Tourism in North Sumatra: Beautiful Panorama of Sipiso-Piso Waterfall – After leaving Taman Simalem Resort, our tour guide Mr. Rachmad from TX Travel took the group to the Sipiso-Piso Waterfall, which is located not too far from the Resort. Sipiso-piso Waterfall is the highest waterfall in Indonesia, surrounded by pine trees and green hills, located in Karo Regency, North Sumatra Province.
When seen from afar, the swift water falling from a river on a hill; from a distance resembles a knife which in the local language “knife” is call “piso”, the local people; then call it Sipiso-piso waterfall; which until now the name has been use as a tourist attraction in Tanah Karo.
From the bus parking lot I can immediately; enjoy the beautiful view of the waterfall, but if you want to see the waterfall up close; then you have to walk down the stairs with hundreds of steps and it takes about 30 minutes to walk. Limited time discouraged me from going down the stairs, maybe next time I have to come back here to test my mental and stamina; to see a panoramic view of Sipiso-piso Waterfall up close.

Failing to go down the Sipiso-Piso stairs does not mean that I miss another beauty of this waterfall, from above the height I can see Lake Toba and the stretch of hills surrounding the waterfall with lush plants surrounding this tourist attraction and many souvenir sellers of Tanah Karo around.
Satisfied with enjoying the panoramic view of Sipiso-piso Waterfall, the journey will continue to Lake Toba and Samosir Island, because the journey that will be taken is quite far, about 4 hours the bus trip stops first at a shop that specializes in Bandrek Simarjarunjung, here I drink Bandrek while enjoying the beautiful panorama of the Lake Toba from the top of Simarjarunjung hill.(Tourism in North Sumatra: Beautiful Panorama of Sipiso-Piso Waterfall)
